16 September 2026. For the first time in thirty years of Pokémon TCG, there is no Japan-first window. No months spent watching Japanese pulls on YouTube while you wait for the English print run. No import premiums, no scalped singles landing here before the set does.

30th Celebration arrives in Australia on the same day it arrives everywhere else on the planet — and that single change rewrites how this release is going to play out.

What "Worldwide Simultaneous" Actually Changes

Australian collectors have spent three decades on the back foot. A Japanese set drops, the community dissects every chase card for months, prices are set by overseas demand, and by the time the English version reaches shelves here the hype curve has already peaked somewhere else.

30th Celebration breaks that pattern entirely. Every market opens at once. That has three practical consequences worth thinking about before release day:

• Demand compresses into a single window. Instead of global demand arriving in waves, it all lands on 16 September. Allocation pressure on Australian retailers will be heavier than usual.
• No price discovery head start. Nobody gets to watch the market settle before deciding what to buy. Everyone is guessing at the same time — which historically means the early sealed buyers do well and the late ones pay a premium.
• You are pulling the same cards as everyone else, on the same day. For once, an Australian collector opening a pack on release morning is part of the global first look rather than a footnote to it.

Worth knowing: like other special sets, 30th Celebration has no standalone booster box. The packs are distributed through Elite Trainer Boxes, Booster Bundles, Mini Tins and the Ultra-Premium Collections — so the ETB is the anchor product for most collectors this time around.

The Chase: What Everyone's Actually Hunting

Anniversary sets live and die on their chase cards, and 30th Celebration has been built almost entirely around them. Every pack is all-foil. There is no filler.

A Guaranteed Pikachu in Every Single Pack

Thirty unique Pikachu illustrations — one for each year of the game — and one of them appears in every booster pack you open. Not a chance at one. One, guaranteed, in all five foils.

This is the mechanic that will define the set's collectability. A 30-card subset with a guaranteed hit per pack creates something the Pokémon TCG has never really had before: a master-set chase that is achievable through opening but still deep enough to take serious volume. Expect certain illustrations to separate hard from the pack in the secondary market within weeks.

Futuristic Rare — A Brand-New Rarity Tier

The set introduces Futuristic Rare, a new rarity debuting with Mew and Mewtwo, both illustrated by the Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN. New rarity tiers are rare events in this hobby, and the first cards to ever carry one tend to hold a status that later entries in the tier never quite match.

If you are picking one thing in this set to watch on the long horizon, the debut Futuristic Rares are the obvious candidate.

The Classic Collection

Thirty reprints drawn from across the game's entire history, including Base Set-era icons. For collectors who started in 1996 and never quite let go, this is the emotional core of the release — and for newer collectors it is the most accessible route to owning modern versions of cards that have otherwise drifted out of reach entirely.

The Product Line-Up and When Each Wave Lands

30th Celebration rolls out across three waves between September and November 2026:

• 16 September — Elite Trainer Box. Nine booster packs, a full-art Nidorina promo, 65 card sleeves, 16 foil Basic Energy, dice and six dividers. The Pokémon Center version carries eleven packs instead of nine. This is the flagship sealed product for the set.
• 2 October — Booster Bundle. Six packs in the standard bundle format.
• 2 October — Day & Night Mini Tins. Sold individually and as a sealed 10-tin retail display.
• 6 November — Ultra-Premium Collections. Two versions: Pikachu ex (Day) with Espeon ex, and Pikachu ex (Night) with Umbreon ex. Each includes 29 booster packs plus a dedicated Classic Collection pack containing three cards from that subset.

A note on case fit: Pokémon sealed products are usually produced at consistent dimensions within each format, so it is highly likely our existing Pokémon acrylic cases will fit the 30th Celebration line-up — but until we have the finished retail product in hand, we can't guarantee it. The Pokémon Company can adjust a product's dimensions at any time, and even a few millimetres matters. Sealed Condition Is the Whole Ballgame

Here is the part most collectors skip. They agonise over whether to open or hold, then leave the ETB they decided to hold sitting on a shelf collecting dust, sunlight and knocks.

A single tear in cellophane packaging can cut a sealed product's value by 40–60%.
Corner damage can reduce prices by around 30%.
Seal damage can make a box effectively unsellable to serious collectors.
